Twilio (NASDAQ:TWLO) has filled the vacancy left by former COO Roy Ng bring in heavy weight ex-salesforce COO George Hu. George Hu would seem like a great fit due to his experience not only in the tech industry but due to his direct involvement in helping grow Salesforce from a promising start-up to the tech powerhouse it is today. His experience growing and scaling cloud based SAAS (software as a service) based companies is going to be crucial for the recently ipo’d company whose seen it’s share price halve over the last few months following it’s meteoric rise.
Roy Ng left a few months ago so Twilio has been without someone serving the crucial COO role with the company. Roy Ng spent the last two years working in this role before “handing” it off to silicon valley veteran George Hu.
It will be interesting to see the vision George Hu has for continuing the growth of Twilio and growing their base of hot shot clients including Facebook, Uber, and Coca Cola.
